‘With a repertoire of clever hooks and slick urban beats, Irini is most certainly one to watch.’ - I Heart Pop
‘It is rare to hear someone, even the most established of artists, able to engage an audience while presenting them with a premise that is most likely well detached from their own knowledge, but Mando achieves her storytelling goals with aplomb.’ - On The Come Up TV
Irini Mando is an artist and songwriter based in London. Notable for her large range, instrumental abilities and clever hooks, she has written across a range of genres. She has recently received funding from PRS Foundation to attend ASCAP Expo 2017 in Los Angeles.
Before she set out to London to pursue music full-time, the German-born singer with Greek roots built her foundation on her eclectic musical education ranging from playing classical music and jazz on piano from the age of five to beginning to write hip hop and pop songs as a teenager.
After honing her performance skills in London full-time for four years, Mandó has built a credible reputation headlining shows around London and online/TV/radio appearances over the last few years (Hoxton Square Bar, The Finsbury, Tileyard Studios, Westside FM, London Live, to name a few).
On her most recent project Eden, the singer shows us what she can do without co-writers, working with only two producers within the space of five months, her distinctive tone and witty words being the through-line. The singles Tide and Surfin’ Sky High are currently also available on Vevo, the launch party for the project was held at Tileyard Studios in summer 2016.
She has previously worked with the Amy Winehouse Foundation which brought to fruition the title song of her first EP Pink Noise and single Hang, which featured on the Foundation’s very first compilation album under Island Records in 2015.
Irini Mando holds a BA (Arts) in Music, a grade 6 qualification in voice, piano and musical theory, as well as a National Diploma in Performing Arts.
